The Medical Devices & Pharmaceuticals Cluster’s general coordinator, Omar Jimenez informed that the manufacturing subsector reached historic numbers in exports, $1,883 million in 2021, projecting more than $2,000 million for 2022. These figures help consolidate the subsector as the Dominican Republic’s main export asset.
Jimenez stated that medical devices and pharmaceuticals sector is of high socioeconomic importance, as its performance was a key factor in COVID-19 mitigation both nationally and internationally and has great potential for growth and continuously provides favorable economic development for the country.
