Medical Devices Cluster Participates in DR Forum & B2B

As part of the DR Forum, an initiative by the National Council of Free Zones in collaboration with the Dominican Association of Free Zones and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and SMEs, representatives of the Cluster participated in the dynamics developed during the event.

Rafael Piantini, Coordinator of the CDMF’s Technical Education Committee, and Laura Castro, HR Director of B.Braun Medical, a company member of the Cluster, took part in the panel titled “Human Talent: The Importance of Human Capital in Business Management.” In this space, they highlighted the various initiatives that the Cluster has undertaken to attract talent, such as talks at schools and plant tours for students, as well as programs created in collaboration with academia, especially the Medical Device Manufacturing Certification from INTEC.

Likewise, Omar Jiménez, General Coordinator of the Cluster, participated in the panel called “Supply Chain: Building and Maintaining Resilience in an Era of Constant Changes.” During this discussion, he emphasized the Cluster’s commitment to promoting productive linkages with the local industry through the Supplier Categorization Tool, in order to develop national-level suppliers based on the needs and requirements of the medical device sector.

In the afternoon session of the event, several member companies of the CDMF participated in business rounds with both national and international suppliers, continuing with the objectives outlined in the Cluster’s Strategic Plan to promote these linkages for the enrichment, productivity, and development of the sector.
